It was March of 2000, it was a big day for Ron, after four years of hard work in the university, he was finally graduating. he was a consistent dean’s lister, member of the student publication, and an active leader in the catholic movement. He was a role model, a friend, a good son and an aspiring priest.
On that same day, Xane an architecture major is also graduating , a normal five year course took her 7 years to finish. she was loud in every way you could imagine, its like she is bombarded with the influence of J-pop and K-pop… every plate she makes is with anime touch. she is bubbly and accidentally smart. she comes from a rich chinese family who owns a large factory of stationaries and paper products down the city.
that day was made under heaven.
On the gate of the university about half past six in the morning, there was a commotion , the guards were arguing with a student. eventually it was Xane, she was not allowed to go inside because she ripped her Toga, and she was wearing a Red boots instead of the normal high heeled black shoes.
Ron was there… but he just ignored the situation. but on his way inside, Xane pulled his shirt and said " IF YOU LET THIS GUY IN, THEN I SHOULD BE IN!" The fury in Xane could felt even if your coming from the next corner of that street. Ron could not do a thing, for the first time in his life he was held helpless.
Then people started complaining… and the guards were forced to let Xane in. "WHATS YOUR NAME?" Xane asked… "i am Ron"…"THANKS" And Xane went on.
Ron went on to find his seat, and he began to find something itchy on his back, and when he reached to scratch his back he found a gold brace let with pendants of dolphins in white gold . and he began to think, and he realized it was Xane’s , it was clearly hers, with all her name engraved on the dolphins.
late that day, after the graduation ceremony, Ron looked for Xane, but he was not successful. Three days later, while walking on the street Ron saw xane, he followed her and gave her the bracelet. but that time Xane was was not the same person he saw on their graduation. She had the saddest face he had ever seen.
Ron found out that Xane saw her boyfriend having sex with one of her friends. Ron consoled Xane in every way he could. He stayed with her the whole day, dropped all job interviews he had for the day.
Ron never had a girlfriend, not even once, as he wanted to aspire to become a priest. Xane on the other hand, had loads of relationships but the recent one was the most serious. thats why she was so down with what happened.
Ron never left Xane, while Xane gets drunk, and lost her consciousness, Ron took her. And he took her on her car, and waited until she gains her consciousness.
Ron came from a poor family, his family are all farmers from the province, but they don’t own any land. Ron made his way up to university by applying for scholarships. it was not easy.
When Xane woke up about 5 am. Ron was still there. but he was outside of the car. he was sleeping. And Xane kicked him, "Why are you sleeping outside??, did you do anything with me?? why is my shirt missing with buttons?"
"Good Morning" Ron said with a sarcastic smile. " NO i did not do any thing dodgy with you Ms. Leung, now i hope you’re okay, can i go now?" he added.
"NO you cant!"
"And why is that?"
"Because I need someone to drive for me!, my head is aching"
"WHAAT? are you out of your mind?? I need to look for a job"
"If you leave me here, I’m gona shout that you did something to me"
"SHOUT! FOR ALL I CARE!"
"OKAY! IF you leave me Im gona undress here!"
" ITS YOUR LIFE ! BY ALL MEANS!"
Then she did it… she removed her shirt… and slowly removing her bra…
"STOP!, ALRIGHT! I’d drive drive for you"
XAne smiled and handed the keys to RON.
For the next three days, Ron was with Xane. Xane took him to places, she bought things for him, Ron taught Xane about stuffs she dont know. Ron made Xane laugh, he would tell her stories about life in the province. and that he needed to find a job, because he is the only hope of his family.
Ron told Xane that after he provides a good life for his family he would become a priest.
Xane arranged a meeting for ROn to see her Dad. They were hiring at the factory, and they needed someone with the background of economics. And ROn is an economics major. The meeting was good, he was offered a good position, with a good salary. he owed so much to Xane.
Later Xane and ROn became good friends. each time xane was heartbroken and being cheated Ron was there. he would always keep her secured. Ron was shot once because he tried to protect XAne from an addict ex boyfriend. Each time Xane feels leaving the real world Ron would always be there.
Ron invested money on stocks and bought lands, and within ten years he made it big. His family had a small factory of rice noodles and a mini printing press. Ron finally decided to get on with his plan. to be a priest.
But Xane that time was sick.. she had complications with her liver, due to too much alcohol, so ROn, still stayed with her. after six months, when she finally recovered, he decided to say his plan to Xane.
"I have something to tell you Xane"
" ME too Ron"
"Oh really? Xane… okay go on.."
"I am planning to marry this year Ron…"
"REALLY! with whom?"
but for the first time Ron felt fear…he never saw Xane so serious not until that day.. and suddenly his mobile rings..
ROn had to leave that day…and he never finished that conversation with Xane.
the week after… ROn was gone.
Xane looked for him. SHe looked everywhere, but Ron was nowhere to be found. And Xane remembered that ROn wanted to become a priest. So she searched every seminary in the country.
after two years she found him. he was in a seminary.
" TWO YEARS no SEE RON!"
"SO how is married life Xane?"
"WHat the hell are you talking about!!!"
" WHy? what happened? YOu changed your mind again??"
"STUPID! HE RAN AWAY.."
" Again???"" ROn asked..
" yeah!"
"I am sorry Xane.. i was not there… i owe you so much… you saved my family, gave me so much…and all i can give you is my service… but i am sorry this time that i left you"
"THANK you Ron. you made me believe in love because of you… but you ran away RON….I wanted you to be with me forever. FOr years i evaded to have a relationship with you. I wanted you so much the first time i pulled you off the university gate! I liked you eversince i saw you on the student publication from the time you always pass by my room and you did not notice me ever since."
"Xane… I have a confession to make… there are two things that i kept from you… First, I was the one who wrote you a long letter that i placed on the windshield of your car when you were taking summer classes. second, when i was shot when i dodged the bullet for you, and i thought i would die, i would like to say i FELL for you"
" SO why didnt you?"
"Because I am afraid you wont like me…and i am not like you"
"OH SHUT THAT CRAP! Its the oldest reason we see in TV.. you are smart Mr. Teryo, but you are stupid at the same time!, Now id ask you one time, WILL YOU MARRY ME ??? "
"NO i cant"
" IM going to take off my clothes here! if you dont!"
" Not that move again Xane"
and she started unbuttoning her shirt..
" OKAY! I WILL now stop it!"
and Xane hugged Ron.
"BUt i am not chinese.."
"Oh shut the crap Ron and kiss me"
and they lived…i dont know if it was happily ever after.
